On Saturday, December 18, over 40 Pirate Football players and coaches participated in
Operation Share Christmas at the Memorial United Methodist Church in West Carrollton.
Players showed up early to deliver goods to seniors living at Canterbury Court. After
a nice lunch, they helped deliver food, toiletries, and gifts to those in need in the
community. In total, the Pirates helped make the holidays a litter brighter for almost 400
hundred individuals and families. This was a great experience for those who attended.
Participating in community service helps players bond and work together, as well as
performing their duty as a good citizen. This is the third straight year the Pirates have
participated in this event, and each year has been better than the last. Players received
several comments from church and community members about their character and
willingness to serve. They should be very proud of their accomplishment and should feel
good about helping out others in need. The Pirates next community service project will
be this June when they participate in the Southwest Dayton Relay for Life.
